How much does an attic steel beam cost in Ireland?
A spliced steel beam for an attic conversion from Attic Steel starts at €525 ex VAT (€645.75 including VAT) for a 4 metre span. Most attic beams between 4 and 8 metres cost between €525 and about €890 ex VAT, depending on the section and the span. These are our own prices as of October 2026; the live price on the website is always the current one.

Delivery and collection
Collection from our yard in Lusk, Co. Dublin (Eircode K45 KF96) is free, by arrangement. Delivery is a flat €100 ex VAT within about 30 minutes' drive of Lusk, and €3 per kilometre beyond that. The website works out the delivery price from your address before you pay.
A worked example
A 6 metre span in the 203×133×25 UB, with the two splices the website suggests, is €599 ex VAT. Collected from Lusk, that is €736.77 including VAT. Delivered within 30 minutes of Lusk, it is €699 ex VAT, or €859.77 including VAT.
What the beam price does not cover
The price is for the steel, made and finished. It does not include your engineer's design and sign-off, fitting the beam, or any building work around it such as bearings in the walls. Ask your builder or attic conversion company what they allow for those.
Ways to keep the cost down
- Collect the beam yourself if you have a suitable van or trailer.
- If your job needs two beams, order them together so there is one delivery.
- If access is easy, choose fewer splices than suggested. Each one you leave out saves €53 to €63.
